XPDO: The Product Thinking Method

XPDO is a method based on a simple principle:
Everything that creates value behaves like a product — and must be managed like one.

A product can be a software system, a process, a workflow, an internal platform, a service, or an emerging business model.
If it has users, outcomes, costs, risks, and expectations, it is a product.

XPDO applies product thinking to units that are traditionally not treated as products.
The method focuses on:

  • clarifying who the real user is,
  • identifying value and waste,
  • defining measurable outcomes instead of deliverables,
  • creating short learning loops,
  • aligning technical, operational, and business perspectives.

This is not a rigid framework.
It is a method that adapts to any environment by re-centering the work around the product, not the org chart.

If you treat everything as a product, you eliminate confusion, reduce friction, and make decisions faster.

XPDO builds on established disciplines — Lean, UX Research, Product Management, Product Operations, and DevOps — but does not enforce processes. It gives you a way of thinking that aligns strategy, execution, and learning.

A Simple Question

Do you have an “X” that frustrates people, loses money, or never reaches its potential?

XPDO is designed to fix exactly that.
